It’s for ages been a recognized proven fact that wine draws in gnats. There’s actually reference to it inside the Bible. Setting aside a glass of wine has been recommended for isolating gnats at outdoor meetings. Of the approximated 48 million U.S. adults which call themselves wine drinkers, we are able to imagine that the vast majority of them at least at times have a glass of wine in some outside locale. When they do, they have probably encountered having their glass of wine invaded by a gnat, mosquito, or bug. It happens…all the time.
The only real solution is to avoid the intruders from getting into the glass in the first place. How? Using our wine glass cover! Presently, wine drinkers improvise by utilizing beverage napkins, or if it’s windy, maybe a paper plate, cd case, paperback book, coaster, coffee saucer or upside down coffee filter. The issue is, none of these items are efficient for the purpose. They’re possibly too light and get blown down, or uneven so they let gnats in regardless, or too heavy or unstable and may harm the glass, or they’re too dense or solid, so the glass begins to sweat inside and it sours the wine.
The solution is the wine-tapa. It’s made from hard plastic, is a little over 4 ins across and about a half-inch deep. Its center is a 2-inch diameter opening, made up of really dense stainless steel mesh.
